Soil Laboratory Testing
The safety and durability of construction, road infrastructure, metro, and other engineering projects depend directly on the accurate evaluation of the geotechnical properties of soil layers. At GEO QAZMA LLC, we scientifically analyze these characteristics by testing soil samples under laboratory conditions. The technical data obtained from laboratory tests serve as a critical decision-making base for engineers during the design process.
In our accredited laboratory, we have the capability to assess the mechanical and physical properties of soils in accordance with both GOST and ASTM standards. This approach ensures compatibility with local regulations while also meeting the requirements of international projects.
Pre-Laboratory Stage
The laboratory research process begins with the proper collection and preparation of soil samples. GEO QAZMA's field team extracts soil samples from various depths using specialized drilling equipment and cylindrical samplers, following strict standards. Each sample is coded, protected during transportation to avoid deformation, and prepared for analysis upon arrival at the lab.
Main Tests Conducted
The geotechnical properties of soil samples are evaluated in our laboratory through the following key tests:
- Grain size distribution: Soil is separated into fractions using sieving and sedimentation methods, and classified by particle size.
- Moisture content and density: The mass, volume, and density of dry and wet soil are determined.
- Liquid and plastic limits: The boundaries of soil consistency before deformation are identified.
- Consolidation and settlement tests: The soil’s response to prolonged loading and its settlement rate are measured.
- Triaxial and shear tests: Shear strength, cohesion, and internal friction angle of the soil are analyzed.
- Permeability tests: Water permeability is evaluated—an essential parameter for foundation behavior.
- pH and chemical composition: The chemical balance of the soil, corrosion risk, and impact on engineering materials are assessed.
All tests are conducted in the GEO QAZMA laboratory using high-precision instruments, and results are delivered in an official report format in compliance with applicable technical standards.
